Eid Mubarak!

The month of Ramadan is coming to an end. Time to celebrate Eid! In the last two years, I haven't had the chance to celebrate Eid, usually because of assignments and midterms. Looks like this year won't be any different. Depending on the moon sighting, Eid ul-Fitr might be tomorrow, if that's the case, then I will be celebrating Eid along with my CS360 midterm. Otherwise, on Friday, I will be celebrating this holy day while working on my Concurrency and Distributed Systems projects. Isn't the life of a University of Waterloo Computer Science student just absolutely wonderful???

I was reminiscing about the days when I would celebrate Eid in Bangladesh. Those were the good old days. You'd receive presents from your elders (cash - if you're lucky), buy new clothes, and of course have a day to simply feast on some amazing food! Those days seem so far away now. I've been secluded from my home for too long. Oh, what wouldn't I be willing to give up to go back home for one day!

Well, I shouldn't really be complaining. I know that not many people get the opportunities that I've had in my lifetime and I am definitely thankful for that. Just that I'm a little homesick after a long time. But as always, the homesickness will pass, and I'll move on.

Best Wishes, and Eid Mubarak!
